Caya Makhelé (*1952) is Congolese playwright, publisher, novelist, prose writer, poet and journalist. He has lived in France since 1983. In 2003 he visited Prague for the first time and was captivated by the magic of the city and since then he has visited Prague regularly.
Czechs have had a chance to discover his successful play La Fable du Cloître
des Cimetières (The Fable of Death, Hell and the Morgue) in two performances.
His latest novel Les Matins de Prague (Prague mornings) was produced by Caya
Makhélé last year. The novel takes place in Prague, Paris and Rwanda and deals
with the genocides of the twentieth century from the intermingling of personal
stories. The discussion will be English, French and Czech friendly.
