Before you go to one of our branches, you should know that you can use many services from the comfort of your home online.
Online catalogue and My Library
You can search for the titles which interest you in the online catalogue. My Library offers you comfortable management of your member’s account, where after login you can, for example, extend borrowed books, reserve books or create lists of your books. Do you want to use My Library? First you have to configure a password for your member’s account. You can find out more on the page How to Become a Member.
Reservation
Are you interested in a book, film or CD, but at the moment someone else has it out? No matter, you can reserve any book or other lent item. Choose how you want us to inform you of a reservation made (by e-mail or post), you can suspend a reservation. What is important! Reservation is a charged service, and the fee for it is CZK 10. If you want a notification sent by post, there is an additional charge of CZK 15.
e-library and databases online
In the e-library you can read or download e-books which we have digitised for you. You can also find an overview of all the digitised works from our stock in it. Online databases are an invaluable source of information in electronic form. They include important encyclopaedia resources such as Oxford Art Online, Oxford Music Online, Film Index International, Proquest Central and many others. We attempt to ensure the constant expansion of the number of online databases. .[cor]

Do you want to have an overview of what new books, music or films we have? Look at the page New in Stock. Configure an email address in the library, and we will send you various email notifications:
- warning of end of borrowing period – 3 days before the end of the borrowing period of your books we will send you an email free of charge with notification of which books should be returned.
- warning of accruing of late charges – on the day when late charges begin on a book we will send you an email free of charge with information about which title the late charges apply to
