Dokumentaristka Nahid Persson pomocí kamery i vznikajícího přátelství s energickou Masíh, íránskou novinářkou žijící v exilu v USA, postupně objevuje ženu, která je tváří a hlasem milionů lidí kritických vůči náboženskému fundamentalismu íránského režimu. Film však zároveň ukazuje i lidskou bytost radující se z maličkostí a trpící strastmi vlastní rodiny i stovek neznámých Íránců, kteří se na ni obracejí. Na pozadí násilného potlačování největších novodobých protivládních protestů jsme svědky každodenního úsilí ženy, jež i přes mnohaleté odtržení od rodiny, emoční i fyzické vyčerpání a pravidelné výhrůžky násilím a smrtí neúnavně bojuje za svobodnější Írán.

Through her camera and an emerging friendship with Masih, an Iranian journalist living in exile in the United States, documentary filmmaker Nahid Persson gradually discovers the woman who has come to represent millions of people critical of the Iranian regime's religious fundamentalism. However, the film also shows a human being rejoicing in the little things and suffering from the sorrows of her own family and the hundreds of Iranians who turn to her. Against the background of the violent repression of the largest modern anti-government protests, we witness the daily efforts of a woman who, despite emotional and physical exhaustion and regular threats of violence and death, tirelessly fights for a freer Iran.
