Tuto situaci v Německu určuje 150 let starý paragraf 218 trestního zákona, který se pravidelně stává předmětem vyhrocených debat, sporů a demonstrací. V minulosti sice prošel několika úpravami, které zaručují, že při splnění určitých podmínek není interrupce trestána, nadále však zůstává ilegální. V praxi to znamená, že stát aktivně vstupuje lidem do jejich životů a mnohdy už tak nelehkou situaci nadále komplikuje s jediným cílem – omezit počet potratů. Členkám berlínského feministického kolektivu KINOKAS se podařilo natočit výpovědi desítek žen, které otevřeně sdílí své zkušenosti s potratem. Z této mozaiky jasně zaznívá volání po možnosti svobodně rozhodovat o svém těle, životě a budoucnosti.

This situation in Germany is determined by Section 218 of the Criminal Code, which is regularly the subject of heated debates, disputes and demonstrations. Although it has been amended several times to ensure that abortion is not punished if certain conditions are met, it remains illegal. In practice, this means that the state actively enters people’s lives and often complicates an already difficult situation – with the sole aim of reducing the number of abortions. Members of the Berlin feminist group KINOKAS have recorded the testimonies of dozens of women who openly share their experiences of abortion. From this mosaic a clear call for the right to decide freely about one’s body, life and future emerges.
